Round 4

Round 4 was completed for the full 500 shoppers. Total registrations at Sunday Feb 24 is 67 registrations. Upto 85 registrations at Monday night – yielding 18 from 500 = 3.2% so far. Total registrations on Wednesday morning are 90 = 4.5%  Now 92 by Friday

At this rate I’ll get 1,170 subscribers

Round 3a

Round 3a (below) is slightly different because it pushes a mystery shopping issue – hopefully will appeal to the database it came from. Total before sending 3b is 32 signups in total.  It’s now 5 days in and 10 registrations for 10b.  10 for 250 people being = 2.5% again.

Dear Karen,

As always, thank you for being a registered Shop’n Chek Mystery Shopper.

I have started a newsletter for shoppers and non-shoppers. The newsletter will be sent about once a fortnight. It will cover issues to help you earn more money as a Mystery Shopper as well as other useful tools for our everyday lives.

You don’t need to subscribe, and if you do, it is easy to unsubscribe.

The last issue gave 6 tips on getting more mystery shopping work.

A previous article gave 10 tips on how to get better customer service, and the art of complaining – to get what you want. It has worked for me. I recently complained about a credit card problem and received a free return airfare to Adelaide (the Barossa) for my wife to join me on a business trip.

Subscribers will also be able to download free goodies such as eBooks and in future, special deals provided by some of our clients.

The subscribers are mostly Mystery Shoppers but we’ll be mixing in a few other topics as well. As usual, you don’t pay anything, or need to do anything but subscribe.

To subscribe just click here. It’s a free newsletter.

If you don’t want to subscribe (and find those previous articles) just go to my website at www.whytohow.com

Round 2b

I mailed out to 273 people with the following below. As you can see – this one is aimed more at the people on the database, the shoppers.

Three days after the mailout there are 18 email subscribers. This execution was more successful. So 8 subscribers for 273 mailed = 3% Still Crap. 10% are bouces so still crap at 3.2%  Ended up at 19 before sending out Round 3a to another 250 people.

The second mailout went as follows”

Second test mailout has just gone out to 250 people.

Results after 2 days show total subscribers = 10

Second Test mailout

Second test mailout has just gone out to 250 people.

Results after 2 days show total subscribers = 10

About the same takeup as the first, very slight improvement. Not good enough.

Interesting because I think I have a good database but there were 31 bounced emails from a list of 250.

What it’s about

This Blog is all about my progress building my main blog called www.whytohow.com

I have an advantage in building the whytohow blog because I own a mystery shopping company with over 26,000 registered shoppers.

This blog is about my quest to have these people subscribe to my newsletter and RSS feeds – traffic.

I’ll be posting all my test marketing to show the effectiveness.   You may come for the ride, or you may even provide suggestions.

I am going to keep my Blog growing by spending only 30 minutes per day.  The 30 minutes does not include marketing to the database, just the Blog.  Here goes.
